My name is Femke,
mostly at home in the Catalan Pyrenees. 🏞️
Nice to meet you!
In 2014 I left home not knowing that I wasn't going to come back. 🙈 My life since then consisted of making beautiful (climbing) trips, working as an instructor in outdoor and snow sports ❄️ and cooking for groups. 🥘
Over time it became clear that my different adventures center around one and the same thing: 🏔️ the mountains.
Therefore, I followed the UIMLA International Mountain Leader training in Aragon (Spain). 🤸♀️ This way I can professionally share my most incredible mountain adventures with you. All around the world. 🌍
If I am also interested in something other than mountains? 🤓 Oh yes! For example, I like to be challenged to think about human psychology and personal development. 👾 I'm also following a training in Body-oriented psychotherapy. 🙌
I think the mountains are a perfect backdrop to take a good look at ourselves. 🧐

en casa en los Pirineos Catalanes. 🏞️

En 2014 me fui de casa sin saber que no iba a volver. 🙈 Mi vida desde entonces consistía en hacer hermosos viajes (de escalada), trabajar como profesora de deportes al aire libre y de deportes de nieve ❄️ y cocinar para grupos. 🥘
Con el tiempo quedó claro que mis diferentes aventuras se centran en una misma cosa: 🏔️ las montañas.
Así llegué en Aragón, para formarme de Guía de Media Montaña UIMLA. 🤸♀️ Como guía puedo compartir con vosotros mis mejores aventuras de montaña de manera profesional. Y eso por todo el mundo. 🌍
¿Si también estoy interesada en algo más que montañas? 🤓 ¡Ay, sí! Por ejemplo, me gusta que me desafíen a pensar sobre la psicología humana y el desarrollo personal. 👾 También estoy siguiendo una formación en Terapia Corporal Integrativa. 🙌
Creo que las montañas forman un escenario perfecto para la reflexión profunda 🧐

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.Van je hobby je beroep maken. Allemaal leuk en aardig, maar niet altijd even handig. Het maakt namelijk ook dat je hobby soms een iets te directe link krijgt met spanning, zorgen, stress… Wie heeft er niet van gehoord? 😅
🗻 Afgelopen week zwierf ik vijf dagen lang met rugzak door Parc Natural Cadí-Moixeró. Op twee uur rijden van huis, een gebied dat ik al jaren in mijn hoofd had om eens te gaan verkennen. Vijf dagen lang in goed gezelschap van één van mijn beste vrienden, slapend in onbemande hutten, de stilte en rust van de bergen inademen. Lange gesprekken, drie uur durende siësta’s, de tijd laten verstrijken zonder horloge. Natuurlijk een wandelkaart meenemen, maar vooral ook daar struinen waar niemand ons is voorgegaan. Behalve de gemzen, die ons nieuwsgierig aanschouwen van hooguit twintig meter afstand.
🌍 Ik houd ervan, mijn bergervaringen met jullie delen, zien wat de bergen met mensen doen. En ik houd er ook van, om zo nu en dan de bergen te mogen ervaren vanuit rust. Om het motortje in mijn hoofd - dat altijd (met liefde) aanstaat als ik met jullie op pad ben - te mogen uitzetten. Daardoor weet ik weer extra goed wat ik zo graag met jullie wil delen.
🙌 De stilte, het stilstaan van de tijd, de zachtheid én de ruigheid van het bergleven, de simpelheid van dagenlang één voet voor de andere zetten. In verbinding met de natuur, de medemens en jezelf.

𝟵-𝟭𝟱 𝗷𝘂𝗹𝗶 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 bewandelen we de mooiste delen van de Carros de Foc. De etappes zijn niet extreem lang, waardoor we helemaal op jullie behoeften kunnen inspringen. Extra uitdagingen door toppen te beklimmen of juist simpelweg in de bergen zijn. Alles kan.

Decision making or the pressure of risky situations, can form a heavy load to carry on your own. 🏋️♀️
It demands a capacity of taking every possible outcome into account, observing situations from different perspectives, lots of reflection, and also, learning to move on after making mistakes. 💩
Therefore it was a great pleasure to get the opportunity to work together with another guide during this incredible snowshoe trekking in Switzerland and Italy.💃💃
To be able to discuss decisions, to consult another's opinions, to share and to express, and therefore: to learn.🤓

Aunque se trata completamente de personas, el trabajo de un guía muy a menudo es solitario.👾
La toma de decisiones y la presión de situaciones de riesgo, pueden convertirse en una carga grande para llevar uno solo.🏋️♀️

In mei maken we een huttentocht door dit unieke gebied in Zuid-Catolonië!🌞 In 6 dagen trekken we langs de Estels del Sud, ook wel de zuidelijke sterren genoemd. Dit gebied staat bekend om de unieke samenstelling van flora en fauna. Je geniet iedere dag van prachtige uitzichten en ook is de kans groot dat je o.a. gieren en dassen tegenkomt. 🤩 We slapen een aantal nachten in berghutten, kleinschalige Casa Rurals en 2 nachten zelfs in een hotel!

A contradiction that moves me, a type of energy that makes me want to prove and achieve the contrary. 💪
Does it happen to you too? That things you love most, are the things that cause(d) you a challenge? 🙆♀️
When I finished my guiding course a few years ago, I decided I wanted to improve my snow skills. ❄️ They supposed I was skilled enough to guide people in the snow, but I didn't feel prepared at all. ⛄
Didn't really have a clue about the how, but the goal was clear: learn as much as possible about snow and moving safely through snow. 🏔️
It's how I ended up in a place I couldn't have imagined. 🙌 I didn't have a clue that there were people going out daily, to observe the snow in order to collect data for the avalanche forecast. 🧐🌨️ But it seems to be what I'm doing now - or at least learning to do.
So if you have been wondering why I'm not actively guiding this winter, it's because of the beautiful unpredictability of life that gave me another great opportunity. 🌟
Moral of the story: just focus on the now, and all the rest will unfold itself. Probably differently than expected. 🎁🎉

🔥Slowly summer program 2023 is taking form. At least one thing is for sure: this summer I'll repeat this wonderful trekking. I sincerely think it's an amazing experience.
I chose the route in a way that it gives us lots of opportunities to adapt to our needs. 🐐Having longer or shorter days, adding summit ascents, practice our scrambling skills, or taking time to just be in nature without any objectives.🧘♀️

🍃The last few years I'm noticing, cada vez más, the living goes with seasons.🌱
In summer the energy is high. Lots of trekkings, activities, people, work. 🤸♀️
🍵 I remember the days in late August this year that I started thinking about pyjamas and blankets and fire and tea. My body started asking for it, it started asking for movement in another direction.🔥
🍁Autumn seems to be a mix. Slowing down the movement. The last trekkings of summer season, literally returning home. Winter preparation. 🎪
❄️ And in the same season movement, this winter will be a different winter for me. A winter at home. Fer caliu. Casa.
No travels to far-away mountains.
🌄 Enjoy even more every corner of this little Pyrenees paradise. 🏔️

You see, keeping my Instagram updated is not my favorite thing to do.🎉 Let's say that it's not the part of my job that gives me a lot of satisfaction. 🤦♀️
The fact that it is sometimes - often - quiet on my digital channels doesn't mean that nothing is happening. 🏔️ On the contrary. This year is all about reaping the fruits of quite some work the years before. 🍑
And yet in early spring I was not so happy. Stuck in my head. 🌪️ I even had doubts about whether I liked my job. Ironically, just when things started to run smoothly. 💫
Fortunately, life always manages to give you what you need. So suddenly people passed by in my life who helped me a few steps further on my path. 🐾
With so much dedication, attention and love.🌈
Exactly that showed me that I had forgotten why I do what I do. 🧐 Receiving something that feeled so unconditional, fueled my flame of wanting to be able to pass that feeling on to other people. 🔥
Giving in my way, with my (mountain) skills, gives me the feeling that every now and then I can contribute a little grain to the growth of another person..
That is what gives me satisfaction. 🎁
