What a way to start the day!
No, not that I do this everyday. But it does make me happyyyy! 🤸♀️
(SWIPE RIGHT for some revealing truths 😁)
Leaving home around 7AM for an early morning bike ride 🚵♀️ and swim🏊♀️ in the early morning sun, 🌄
coming home by 9:30,
and by 10AM ready to start the work day.🤓
Developing routines like these, has been taking years. Not that for me this specific example is a routine, but I mean self-care things and activities in general.😊
Often we don't realize that doing something once a month, is probably already a huge step forward. 💪💥
But instead of feeling satisfied about doing - let's say yoga 🧘♀️- once a month, we don't even do the once a month, because we feel bad about not doing it more often. Hello limiting beliefs! 🖖
For me personally, a lot of those limiting thoughts are centered around my body. I could stay at home all the time, if I would believe my thoughts that somebody with my lifestyle should have another body.🏋️♀️ That I can go climbing again, the day in the very far future that I look slimmer. 🤔
But now I'd rather choose not to believe that thought, and to DO what makes me feel strong and happy. A lot more fun and so much more productive! 💃
So, for example, I used to think like ''I should do yoga everyday'', keep up the rhythm until will power faded and give up. Asking myself why it's so hard to keep doing what makes me feel good. 🧐
But now I find myself doing those things on a daily basis, without being so hard on myself. 🥰
Finding what feels good, 🔥
starting from a much nicer place. And suddenly it's much easier to keep up with my routines. 🤩
Little by little getting somewhere :)

"A rich and mighty Persian once walked in his garden with one of his servants. The sevant cried that he had just encountered Death, who had threatened him. 👻
He begged his master to give him his fastest horse so that he could make haste and flee to Teheran, which he could reach that same evening. The master consented and the servant galloped off on the horse.🐫
On returning to his house the master himself met Death, and questioned him, Why did you terrify and threaten my servant?🧐
"I did not threaten him; I only showed surprise in still finding him here when I planned to meet him tonight in Teheran," said Death."🧟
-Man's Search for Meaning, Viktor E. Frankl 📖
Great reminder to SURRENDER, isn't it? 💫
🧞♀️Apparently it's impossible to know what Life (or Death) has figured out for us, let alone that we could control the outcome. Why do we keep on trying? And fighting reality?
Either wanting to get rid of reality, or getting attached to reality. In both ways we make ourselves suffer.
Letting go of control, it seems a continuous game and tension field of contraction and release.
What this all has to do with LOCKDOWNS and KYRGYZSTAN and MOUNTAINS, you can read

"The apparent endlessness of the situation leaves no space for wishing ourselves into the future. We don’t know where in future to wish for. [...]
It is those moments – when we suddenly see that the world is much bigger than we thought a split second ago.
Those moments when we stop longing for the sun and the stars suddenly appear."✨

It is easy to smile, when life rolls along like a sweet song;
But the man worth while, is the man with a smile,
When everything goes dead wrong.
-Ella Wheeler Wilcox | S.N. Goenka
This, and some last week events made me realise that I forgot something really important in my REPICE for FLOW (28th of April). But I mean, really important. 🙌
Lief zijn voor jezelf!!😍
Being kind for yourself, practising self compassion, receiving life with an inner smile and smile at yourself after messing it all up.
It might be one of the hardest challenges, at least for me, but maybe therefore also the most powerful. 💫
Wondering if this is something other people are 'struggling' with. Any inner critics around? Or better: any secret tricks and hacks to share?
--> photo is of a moment a few days ago that I realised I wasn't so kind to myself. I decided to take a step back to enjoy the last sun rays of the day ☺️ so greatful for this view!

It has been five years! 😍
Five years since I decided to hop on a plane in direction of a new adventure. 😎
Doing the admission test for the International Mountain Leader training in Spain 🏔
-an adventure of which I truly didn't know what to expect (oh wait, what was the definition of adventure again..🤔?)
-a training of which I wasn't sure what it would be about
-in a country I barely hadn't been before
-in a laguage I had some basic knowledge of, but to say it would be enough for study..? (well, apparently it was)🤓
Some time ago I wrote a blog about some lessons I got to learn from diving in headfirst
--> link in bio/comments <--
This particular trip involves an anecdote that I am secretly still ashamed of. Not sure I wanna share 🤭 ... See MoreSee Less
RECIPE for FLOW
Inspired by a podcast I listened to last Thursday, I started thinking about the things I do to make and keep myself happy. 😎
Not the things I do because I like them right from the start - of course, those make me happy too - but it's especially those things that cost a little effort, that make the difference. The things that are not comfortable, the things for which you need to give yourself a little push. 🌬
The type of things you do because you know, once you're doing them or once you've done them, they'll make you feel better. The things that get you to the place where you want to be. The things that make you be the person you want to be. The things that set you up for FLOW. ✨
I made a personal list of the things that set me up for flow which I'll share with you during this week. First I'll put some points of my list in to action. 💪
Can you guess what will be on my list? 🤓😅
See you in a few days! ... See MoreSee Less

Okay, let's be honest. The Adventures Km0 I wrote about yesterday, are of course not Km0. Rather Km10, 100 o 1000. Well, most of them within the range of movement of my four wheel cube (which of course is old and guilty of 💨). (and duuuh, something about a virus: it's not that I could go out of this range, anyway)
This van was my home for some time. Since I have an awesome home now - in a real house - my van is mostly my holy stockroom and buddy in short adventures, sleepovers and furgo-retreats. 🚒
Like this I am always prepared for spontaneous surprise skiing, climbing, biking, hiking adventures.😎
I think it's time to change stock, though. Should I really say goodbye to the winter season? Change the skis for the bike? 🛴
Not sure I can!

Happy earth day! 🌍
These pictures I made about six years ago during the Huayhuash trekking in the Peruvian Andes. I wanted to share them with you today, because I am pretty sure it's the most beautiful piece of earth I've ever seen in my life.✨
But I also wanted to share them, because since then I barely did any more traveling to other sides of the world. I found a place closer by, where I feel at home, and where I have lots to discover, many adventures to live and lessons to learn.🌄
I am not in need of far travels.✈️
Of course, I'd love to see more of these incredible landscapes, learn from other cultures, and especially, experience this incomparable feeling of leaving everything behind, having no connections and at the same time being connected with everything around. A feeling I really relate to (solo) traveling far far away.👽
But I can stay here and try to learn what's there to learn, a bit closer to home. Personally (let's not talk about professionally) I don't mind so much the travel restrictions, because I am where I want to be.🤸♀️
Maybe that's my way of celebrating Earth Day and contributing a tiny little bit to keeping her alive. Being happy with the piece of earth I have around. Being grateful for the pieces of earth I've seen before. But without the need to discover only more and more and more.
Let's do Adventures km0. 👣
Could you give up on traveling? 🧐
OK, and let's also be honest: if you would offer me a guiding job in Patagonia I'd rather say YES 🙈 ... See MoreSee Less

So beautiful! One of my favorites in the Pyrenees for its amazing landscape, spectacular geology and very exciting trekking.
Posets has great surroundings for a three (or more) day trekking from hut to hut.Aerial view of the Lardana massif in the Pyrenees, Spain. A unique location for all those, who like structural geology, tectonics (with plenty of folds, faults, etc.) and a wonderful landscape!! Lardana is a prominent, 3375 m high mountain in the Spanish Pyrenees. It is the result of two orogenies: At first its rocks were folded and squeezed around 310 million years ago, when the Iberian microcontinent crashed into the Eurasian continent. Later, when Africa drifted against Eurasia and the Alps developed, Lardana’s rocks were pushed up.
... See MoreSee Less
Everyone is skiing like crazy, but I find myself stretched out on the ground maybe for about an hour. So many perfect shapes! A little world within the other big one. Isn't it incredible that this falls so perfectly from the sky? 🥰❄
